Beeswax is a basic ingredient in the manufacture of balms, sticks, protective creams, makeup and candles.
But it does not only thicken the cosmetic preparations. It has anti-inflammatory and healing properties.
In the hot oily phase:
- For a balm : up to 10% of beeswax. Balms are excellent carriers when you want essential oils to work primarily on the skin.
- For a classic cream (prepared with an emulsifier): maximum 3% of beeswax to be incorporated in the oily phase of the preparation. Beeswax makes the cream thicker, stabilizes the emulsion and provides its "film-forming" power (forms a continuous film on the skin).
Equivalence: 1ml = 0.95g.
Melting point of the beeswax: 65 ° C.
Organic white beeswax discolored (Cera alba).
